Hello! Happy August, everyone! I wanted to start this month with a prayer to ask the Lord to help us forgive anyone who has hurt us or offended us in any way, let go of all the pain, and then turn our attention to Jesus. God is the only one who can heal and restore us. We can try to find comfort in other people and other things, but ultimately they will fail us, because they cannot give us what Jesus can. We have all been hurt. We all carry wounds and scars, and oftentimes revisit the past instead of focusing on our present and the bright future God promises us. Why relive the past, when God tells us that our life with him will be so much better? So, here is a prayer to help all of us let go of whatever weigh us down and then to run towards the cross of Christ.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for promising me that Your mercies are new every morning. I submit my pst to You. I ask that You would help me to forgive all those who have hurt or offended me. You ask me in You Word to bless my enemies and pray for those who hurt me. Lord, I want to be someone who knows how to forgive, to let go, and to heal. I pray for those who have hurt me and ask You to bless them with Your deep love and mercy. Lord, I ask that I would be able to forgive myself. I release all my disappointment, frustration, and bitterness to You and ask You to replace those things with patience, peace, and joy. I want to move forward with a clean and healed heart, so that I can love others better and be a blessing to them. Lord, so often I find myself looking back and reliving my brokenness. Help me to stay focused on You alone and to run to the cross with open arms, ready to embrace the wonderful future You have in store for me. I pray that You would break any negative ties, and remove all bitterness, anger, and pain from my heart. I ask that You would destroy any spirit of division within my family and my friends. Bless my family and me with Your spirit and compassion. I pray that I would turn to You for my comfort, safety, and mercy.
Amen.
I pray that this new month is fun of peace, joy, and God's blessings over you and your families. I encourage you to take time to release the past to God, and receive healing wherever you need it. Have a fabulous day.
-Chloe
