Hello everyone,
In this season of life, I am learning to be patient, calm, and grateful while waiting on the Lord. It's not easy at all. I am usually pretty Type A. I like to know what is going to happen, why it is going to happen, and exactly when it will happen. However, I believe God is trying to shape me into a person who relies solely on Him for whatever I need. It is not my job to worry and complain. It is not my job to compare my life to other people's lives. My only job is to trust in Christ and lean on Him when I need help and guidance. I wrote this prayer remind myself that God has never stopped being good to me. He has always been gracious and generous to me even though I don't deserve anything. God knows I am so far from being a perfect person, but His love and compassion is perfect and with God's help, I can be someone who helps bring joy, peace, light, and love to a world that desperately needs those things. Here is my prayer:
Father, thank You for another gorgeous day. I praise You for waking me up and showing me Your goodness. I ask You would help me stay focused on trusting You more and learning to wait in the midst of discomfort. Lord, I want to build my life on You, my solid rock. I desire to put You first in all things, instead of on earthly matters. When I get distracted, please be there to guide me back to You. Lord, thank You for never giving up or losing faith in me. I know I mess up so often and I'm very imperfect, yet Your love and goodness is perfect. Father, help me to be a messenger of hope and light to the world. Where there is pain, help me bring comfort, where there is sadness, help me bring joy, where there is bitterness and hatred, help me bring peace and love. Lord, thank You for equipping me with a healthy and able body and mind that is ready to be used for Your service. I pray that I will always be humble and obedient to You and look up to You as my Shepherd-King. Thank You for loving me despite my many flaws. You are a good and gracious Father.
In Your holy name,
Amen.
