Daily Prayer

Hi again! Today I'm sharing a daily prayer that I wrote for myself. Personal daily prayers help us feel centered in a busy world. It gives us dedicated time to come before God and to talk with him instead of allowing ourselves to get caught up in the chaos of life. Yes, we al need to get to work, get the kids to school, run errands, go to meetings, etc. but if we fail to take time each day to pray for ourselves, then we open ourselves to the devil's tactics and we will lose sight of following after God. I wanted to share my prayer that I wrote for myself to share what my deepest desires are from the Lord and to share what I've been learning from him lately. You can and should customize your daily prayer to your own specific needs, requests, and desires. (Just think of my prayer as a possible template for yours.)

Daily Prayer:

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for waking me up and filling my lungs with Your breath. I submit this day to You. Help me be a source of light and joy to every person I come into contact with, so that I can bring them closer to You, and be a blessing to them. Lord, I ask for Your protection and mercy. Keep me safe from the evil one and from those who want to harm me and distract me from following after You. Lord, I pray that You would remind me of how deep, wide, unconditional, and unending Your love is, and then help me share that same love with those around me. May I be a fierce light shining through a dark and oftentimes confusing world, and be a kingdom warrior to help set the world free. Help me to always seek Your face when the road seems scary and difficult instead of giving in to my human nature and to temptation. Lord, I pray that I would be a wildflower in a field of roses and resist conformity and culture's "norms". Keep my mind clear and my heart pure. Fill me with Your wisdom and help me use the discretion You have given me to make smart decisions with Your guidance. Father, thank You so much for the wonderful friendships You have blessed me with. They have given me so much joy and strength, and I pray that you will continue to fortify those bonds while blessing me with new "iron friendships"-friendships that will help me pursue You more. Lord, I also pray for my future husband. While I may not know his name, You do and I believe You are preparing him and me to be lifelong teammates and companions. Lord, I pray that he will constantly seek Your face and rely solely on You when things get tough. I pray that the two of us will encourage one another to dive deeper into our personal relationships with You. Help us both to stay pure and patience until Your perfect timing brings us together, so that the two of us may become one and united in Your love and truth. Father, I pray that You will continue to teach and guide me, so that I may accomplish the work You have given me to do. Shape me into a woman who knows how to listen, to serve, to pray, and to love. Bless me with Your creativity, courage, and compassion. Thank You, Father, for being my protector, provider, king, shepherd, and my most intimate traveling companion. Lord, I submit myself to Your will. Teach me to be gracious, humble, and faithful. I know You will do immeasurably more than all I could ask or imagine. I love you.
