Prayer For Texas

Hello everyone! As lots of you know, Hurricane Harvey has wrecked a lot of havoc and heartbreak to many people living in Texas. I cannot stop thinking and praying for everyone who has been affected by this disaster and it weighs very heavy on my heart. I cannot begin to imagine what it is like to lose everything you have worked so hard for. I cannot imagine the amount of fear, pain, confusion, and anger as you wonder if all your family and friends are safe. I cannot imagine what it is like to be forced to leave your home and community not knowing if it will still be there when you come back. If anyone in Texas is reading this right now, please know that you are in my prayers and you are not forgotten or alone. I hope you are all safe and feel God's arms of comfort and courage holding you as you try to put your lives back together. You are so deeply loved and cared about. Please don't ever forget that. I wrote a prayer for the people of Texas. I will not stop sending my love and prayers.

Father God,
I know You are always present even when things seem so scary, hopeless, and dark. Right now, many people are dealing with incredible loss and pain. It's so difficult to understand why this has happened and still believe You are in control. Father, I ask You to be with all those who have lost family members, friends, homes, and are losing faith. Please surround them with Your comfort and peace as You give them courage to rebuild their lives again. I ask that You will send armies of people and resources to join the people of Texas so restoration and healing can begin. Build up new communities that bring support, hope and encouragement to those that need it. Please give this country a spirit of unshakable compassion and love for one another. Lord, I pray that You would remove all division and bitterness from our lives. Help us to see far past race, gender, social class, politics, or any other factor that prevents us from being united in love and service towards one another. Father, continue to strengthen existing relationships and establish new and lasting ones. I ask that You will show yourself to the people of Texas and help them draw nearer to You. Lord, I ask that You would give us creativity and perseverance to find meaningful ways to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. I know You are far stronger and bigger than any natural disaster and You will never stop caring for us. Thank You for being in control and promising to never leave us nor forsake us even when things feel so bleak. You give hope to the hopeless, rest to the weary, comfort to the hurting, and healing to the broken. I love You.

Texas, you are cared about and loved. I am constantly thinking and praying for you. I know ya'll are incredibly strong, heroic, and brave individuals. You will rebuild your homes and lives but you will not be alone in this quest. I am with you and God will be working alongside you. I bless you with peace, comfort, love, and hope. Stay strong and don't lose heart!

My Life Verse

Hello again, everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! I hope your week has been treating you well. Today I wanted to share with you my life verse. The funny thing about it is I just recently picked it out. I guess it took me awhile because there are so many amazing scripture passages to choose from. How can I only pick one? BUT I managed to pick one that really speaks to me.

It is Luke 1:45- "Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfil his promises to her."

Faith is sometimes tricky. It's often hard to believe that God hears me and responds. But I do know that God has taken such wonderful care of me thus far, and he will never stop watching over me. If God is for me, then who can stand against me? I am alive and well today because God is the one who breathed his life-giving spirit into me. Here's another comforting thing to know/remember: God never breaks his promises. Humans will disappoint us from time to time. We have all heard of (or maybe even know) people who say they will do things for us, but never follow through. Yet God always remembers what he told us, and he will never ever disappoint or fail us. God is the only one who can give us peace, joy, and comfort.

So rest assured. While other people can make us feel sad, hurt, or upset, God is too good to leave us hanging. God always comes through. God is alive and working non-stop.

Prayer For Anxiety

Welcome back to my blog! I hope your Monday is off to a great start. I'm going to be real here: I struggle with anxiety and constantly worrying. I often feel guilty for being so anxious because I know my worries are not a big deal. My "problems" are so little compared to what many other people face on a daily basis. There are things like wars, violence, illnesses/diseases, poverty, and so much more. God has blessed me with a wonderful life, so why should I be anxious? God has a plan for my life and his way is far better than anything I could ever make up. However, I also know that God is compassionate. He understands that I am a very flawed human. He's always there to pick me up when I feel so lost in a cloud of worry. He invites me to tell him what is going on in my life, so that he can bring healing and peace. I get tempted to think that my worries are far too small for God. He has more important things to take care of. BUT that is the devil talking. Satan wants to keep me from approaching God's throne of grace and love. So, in order to combat the devil, I wrote a prayer to ask God for his help in the midst of my anxiousness.

Father God,
I am always in awe of You. I just cannot thank You enough for Your goodness and provision in my life. You know how to shower me with blessings even though I do not come anywhere close to deserving them. I sometimes feel so worried and anxious about my life. But Your word tells me that You will always come through. You even care about birds and flowers, so why do I worry so much? You do abundantly more than all I could ask or imagine. I know you make all things work together for my good, and all I need to do is trust You. Your will is best and I must follow You. I love You, Lord and I know that being in a relationship with You, is what I was created to do. Thank You for Your love and forgiveness, and for promising me that You will never ever leave nor forsake me. Thank You for being constant and gracious to me in my confusion. I love you.

Whenever You Feel Alone

Hi again, everyone! I hope you had a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by!

I know I'm definitely not the only person who occasionally feels lonely. Sometimes friends have different plans, or different opinions, and you're left thinking, "What's going on? Will anyone get me?" Those moments are very tough. As humans, we are prone to feeling insecure and those times don't help with our confidence boost. However, it is in those moments where Jesus loves to sweep in and give us comfort, joy, and peace. He adores us and will never ever leave us nor forsake us. It is crucial to remember that our identity in found in God alone. We are all precious children of God who have value and purpose. In we only rely on receiving affirmation from humans, then we will be left feeling disappointed because no human can ever complete us the way Jesus does. Here are some scripture verses to meditate on especially in those times of loneliness and sadness:

Isaiah 41:10- 'Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

Psam 27:10- "Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me."
1 Peter 5:7- "Cast all your anxiety on him for he cares for you." 
You are never alone because Jesus promises to stay close to you. You are so valuable and loved in the kingdom of Heaven. Have a wonderful day!

Prayer-Healing From The Past

Hello! Happy August, everyone! I wanted to start this month with a prayer to ask the Lord to help us forgive anyone who has hurt us or offended us in any way, let go of all the pain, and then turn our attention to Jesus. God is the only one who can heal and restore us. We can try to find comfort in other people and other things, but ultimately they will fail us, because they cannot give us what Jesus can. We have all been hurt. We all carry wounds and scars, and oftentimes revisit the past instead of focusing on our present and the bright future God promises us. Why relive the past, when God tells us that our life with him will be so much better? So, here is a prayer to help all of us let go of whatever weigh us down and then to run towards the cross of Christ.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for promising me that Your mercies are new every morning. I submit my pst to You. I ask that You would help me to forgive all those who have hurt or offended me. You ask me in You Word to bless my enemies and pray for those who hurt me. Lord, I want to be someone who knows how to forgive, to let go, and to heal. I pray for those who have hurt me and ask You to bless them with Your deep love and mercy. Lord, I ask that I would be able to forgive myself. I release all my disappointment, frustration, and bitterness to You and ask You to replace those things with patience, peace, and joy. I want to move forward with a clean and healed heart, so that I can love others better and be a blessing to them. Lord, so often I find myself looking back and reliving my brokenness. Help me to stay focused on You alone and to run to the cross with open arms, ready to embrace the wonderful future You have in store for me. I pray that You would break any negative ties, and remove all bitterness, anger, and pain from my heart. I ask that You would destroy any spirit of division within my family and my friends. Bless my family and me with Your spirit and compassion. I pray that I would turn to You for my comfort, safety, and mercy.
Amen.
