Hello again, everybody! Happy first day of fall!
I know that the change in season oftentimes means a chance in schedules. Kids are back in school, more things pile up on the to-do list at work, and there almost always seems to be an endless list of errands to run and chores to complete. It's so easy to lose sight of the most important thing: keeping our eyes solely on Jesus. The devil loves using the hustle and bustle of our daily lives to distract us. We can fall into a habit of constantly feeling worried and exhausted. Fall is the time to reflect on our many blessings, but I often think more about what needs to be done, instead of taking time to thank God for being there for me. God's presence is the biggest blessing, and we do not acknowledge him enough. So, if you are anything like me, you definitely feel in need of a sense of calmness and peace. Only God can give us true rest from our busy lives. So here's a new prayer for a new season (or anytime you notice yourself feeling exhausted):
Father God,
I cannot thank You enough for Your unending compassion, mercy, and nearness. You are always with me and promise to be my most intimate traveling companion on this road of life. Lord, I know I often forget to reflect on just how incredible You have been to me. You constantly pour out blessings in my life, and I do not thank You enough and I certainly do not deserve Your goodness. Father, my daily life can be such a distraction from staying close to you. I oftentimes worship the feeling of being busy and productive rather than worshipping You. I have not prioritized my relationship with You, and I know it breaks Your heart. I ask for your forgiveness and grace, Lord. You are the most important thing in my life and I cannot make it without You. Father, I am tired and weak. I ask for Your gift of rest and relaxation in my life. I ask that You would wrap me in Your comfort and help me to place my full trust in You. I allow myself to experience Your gift of heavenly peace in my life, so I can be transferred into a person who is a source of light to others. Thank You, Lord, for never leaving me in a pit of despair. You long for me to run into Your arms of kindness and grace, and I am now ready to sprint towards You. Give me a heart of gratitude, joy, and peace, Father. I love You.
Amen.
Enjoy an amazing(and well-deserved) time of rest with Our loving Father. May He fill your lives with many rich blessings!
-Chloe
