Approaching God

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! I hope your week was wonderful and productive. Time to celebrate the well-deserved weekend! :)

Today I wanted to write a bit about prayer. It's such a crucial element in our relationships with Christ and without it, we cannot establish enduring and deep intimacy with God. God calls us to approach his throne of grace and to bring all our cars to him. No relationship can strive without communication. God knows that we were created for meaningful relationships and he adores it when we go to him, instead of worrying about things by ourselves.

There is never a bad time to talk with God. Unlike humans, God is never too busy, never selfish, and is always patient. For a long time, I believed that God couldn't possibly care about all the tiny things I worry about. God has to deal with natural disasters, diseases, war, and poverty (along with so many other things), and I thought my problems were just way too small for him. However, that is a lie that the devil wants me to believe. Satan wants us to thing we don't matter to God. Yet God tells us over and over that we are precious, valuable, and deeply loved by him. Yes, God takes care of the big things in the world, but he also takes equally great care of the tiniest detail of our lives.

Here are some scripture verse discussing prayer and God's care for us:

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." -Romans 12:12

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep praying for all the Lord's people." -Ephesians 6:18

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." _Philippians 4:6-7

Enjoy your weekend! Celebrate the fact that our Savior adores us and never stops providing for us.

Peace and Joy,

Chloe

Prayer For Heavenly Peace And Rest

Hello again, everybody! Happy first day of fall!

I know that the change in season oftentimes means a chance in schedules. Kids are back in school, more things pile up on the to-do list at work, and there almost always seems to be an endless list of errands to run and chores to complete. It's so easy to lose sight of the most important thing: keeping our eyes solely on Jesus. The devil loves using the hustle and bustle of our daily lives to distract us. We can fall into a habit of constantly feeling worried and exhausted. Fall is the time to reflect on our many blessings, but I often think more about what needs to be done, instead of taking time to thank God for being there for me. God's presence is the biggest blessing, and we do not acknowledge him enough. So, if you are anything like me, you definitely feel in need of a sense of calmness and peace. Only God can give us true rest from our busy lives.  So here's a new prayer for a new season (or anytime you notice yourself feeling exhausted):

Father God,
I cannot thank You enough for Your unending compassion, mercy, and nearness. You are always with me and promise to be my most intimate traveling companion on this road of life. Lord, I know I often forget to reflect on just how incredible You have been to me. You constantly pour out blessings in my life, and I do not thank You enough and I certainly do not deserve Your goodness. Father, my daily life can be such a distraction from staying close to you. I oftentimes worship the feeling of being busy and productive rather than worshipping You. I have not prioritized my relationship with You, and I know it breaks Your heart. I ask for your forgiveness and grace, Lord. You are the most important thing in my life and I cannot make it without You. Father, I am tired and weak. I ask for Your gift of rest and relaxation in my life. I ask that You would wrap me in Your comfort and help me to place my full trust in You. I allow myself to experience Your gift of heavenly peace in my life, so I can be transferred into a person who is a source of light to others. Thank You, Lord, for never leaving me in a pit of despair. You long for me to run into Your arms of kindness and grace, and I am now ready to sprint towards You. Give me a heart of gratitude, joy, and peace, Father. I love You.
Amen.

Enjoy an amazing(and well-deserved) time of rest with Our loving Father. May He fill your lives with many rich blessings!

Help Hurricane Harvey Victims/My Poshmark Closet

Hello everyone!

I hope your Labor Day weekend was wonderful and fun. I certainly enjoyed mine, but my heart still hurts for all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. I can't help but to think about how blessed I am to have a place to live with my family safe and sound. My heart breaks for all those who have lost family, friends, homes, and the possessions they've worked so hard to get. I send all my love and prayers to those whose lives are turned upside down.

In order to do my best to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey, I am selling some things on Poshmark and donating 100% of my earnings to sending relief. My Poshmark closet name is cmpark95. Please feel free to check it out! All my prices are negotiable and I'm always more than happy to answer any questions you have.

On Gentleness and Patience

Welcome back! I hope this post finds you well and I hope your Labor Day weekend was fun, restful, and safe. Lately I've been reflecting on what it really means to be gentle and patient. For a long time, I thought all I had to do was slap a silly smile on my face, never have emotions, and be a doormat for everyone to step all over in order to be called gentle and patient. But here's the thing: that's not really being authentic and genuine because my actions were only surface-level. I could try to live like that for a few minutes, but eventually I'd snap and turn into a raging monster that made people turn away from me. I have emotions. We all do. None of us can be angelic 100% of the time. I also get frustrated when too many people demand things from me or do things I prefer they don't. God calls each and every one of us to live in harmony with one another. The beautiful thing is God created us with different personalities, likes/dislikes, and mannerisms. We are bound to annoy each other from time to time, but that is no excuse to give up on asking God to give us more compassion, patience, and self-control. I can't be as kind, gentle, and loving if I don't go to God for help. It is only by me taking time to dive deep into God's word and prayer that I am able to authentically love the people God places in my life.

God also knows I will mess up. I am human. But God also shows me amazing forgiveness and through knowing his mercy, I can also show that same forgiveness towards others when they offend or annoy me. God is the perfect example for me. He laid down his own life just so that I could do the same for others. He has given me grace. Therefore I must show grace to everyone else.

We don't have to feel like our love for others is just an act. In order to really live out God's mission, we must first seek Him and rely on Him for help. We will fail, but God won't fail us. He believes that we are capable of being people of great compassion, patience, mercy, and gentleness.

"May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, n accord with Christ Jesus, that together yay may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God." -Romans 15: 5-7

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience." -Colossians 3:12

"Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly." -Proverbs 14:29

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." -Galatians 6:9

Peace and Love,

Chloe
